Finance Reports Show Strong Audrey Denney Fundraising Advantage in California’s First District

CHICO, CA -- The newly released finance reports from the Federal Election Commission show that Audrey Denney’s fundraising efforts far surpassed her opponent in the first quarter of the 2020 election. Her campaign previously announced a $250,000 fundraising total which can now be measured against the four-term Incumbent, Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale).

The Congressman struggled to find support as he raised only $3,000 from three reported individual contributions while having his bottom line supported by an additional $12,000 in PAC contributions and a $72,000 bailout from the GOP Take Back the House 2020 PAC.

The Congressman’s campaign failed to register a single FEC reported campaign contribution from an individual living in his own district, while the Denney campaign continues to show grassroots momentum with 75% of her nearly 2,100 contributions coming from the people of California’s First District

Denney has launched into the next phase of this campaign season with an impressive $225,000 of cash on hand compared to the $92,000 available for the Congressman’s campaign.

Denney has again shown herself to be a formidable challenger with increasingly strong support behind her second congressional campaign. Audrey responded, “I am proud to be the candidate who is supported by the real people of this district.  In 2020, the voters will decide if they want someone who really is ‘one of us’ or for an incumbent who is backed by the Washington establishment and funded by outsiders and corporate interests.”
