Audrey Denney, a Democrat candidate who ran against Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) twice, announced Tuesday that she would once again vie for the position in 2026 should California voters opt to change district maps.

Last week, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that the state would let the voters choose whether to change congressional district maps early in response to a contentious and controversial effort within the Texas legislature.
