EMILYs List Endorses Audrey Denney for Congress in California’s 1st District
National women’s leadership organization backs grassroots campaign following historic Prop 50 victory
CHICO, CA – EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has announced its endorsement of Audrey Denney for Congress in California’s 1st District.
Denney, an educator, nonprofit leader, and lifelong advocate for rural communities, has built a grassroots movement rooted in service, accountability, and hope for a fairer, more affordable future for Northern California families.
“I’m honored to have the support of EMILYs List,” said Denney, candidate for Congress in California’s 1st District. “Their work is about protecting our freedoms, building a government that reflects our values, and fighting alongside leaders who are grounded in the communities they serve. Together, we’re going to win this seat, stop the healthcare cost spikes affecting millions of Americans, protect our democracy, and make life better for working families.”
In announcing the endorsement, Jessica Mackler, President of EMILYs List, said:
“Audrey Denney is ready to take her fight for Northern Californians to Congress. For too long, California’s 1st Congressional District has had a representative serving his own needs and corporate special interests over his constituents. This race is key to taking back the U.S. House majority, and EMILYs List is proud to endorse Audrey Denney to defeat Rep. Doug LaMalfa. Audrey is ready to fight for her community, lower costs, and protect earned benefits, and we’re proud to stand with her in this must-win race.”
The endorsement marks another major milestone in a campaign gaining momentum following the passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s 1st District into a competitive seat for Democrats and reignited hope for real representation across the North State.
